Dear Colleagues,
Because graduate programs and continuing education courses do not typically provide crucial practice management skills, this book guides you through practical strategies to help you successfully establish and maintain your private practice. Three main streamlining strategies are emphasized: lowering overhead expenses, simplifying daily procedures, and implementing efficient client policies. Whether you desire a small or large practice, you’ll learn how to keep more income, preserve your time and energy, and minimize stress in your day-to-day practice. These strategies have worked so well for me that I can now support myself seeing clients one to two days a week. To learn more about this practice resource visit my website www.EssentialsOfPrivatePractice.com.
I welcome your comments regarding this practice resource, and I wish you success with your practice goals, Holly

My review of Dr. Hunt's book appeared in the June '05 issue of The Psychologist, the official organ of the British Psychological Society. I enjoyed the book and found a number of useful suggestions, both for American and British psychologists wishing to open a private practice, or, like me, those who were already in solo practice but who needed to take stock of what we could do better. I recommend the book to all those in similar circumstances.

It's rare that a book, author or interview live up to the hype. Holly Hunt is the real deal. Her book is outstanding and the interview added insights that were well worth listening to. Holly seems to truly care about helping others succeed in their private practices and that comes through in both the book and her interview. It's nice to know that someone who has "been there, done that" is willing to share the secrets of success in small business and save others time and money in the process. THE ESSENTIAL OF PRIVATE PRACTICE and Holly Hunt get two thumbs up from me.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in that last post. You have a talent for making a hard subject clear to others. I enjoy reading the posts from a guy who has the same flair for explaining things.

I have to comment on your last post about the subject as it was so informative. You really know what you are talking about and can explain things really well. I have only read posts by one other guy who writes as well as you do.
